Shipboard Power & Magnetic Field Testing
Shipboard Testing
DTB is capable of meeting the requirements of DC magnetic field environments, typically applicable to shipboard testing. In addition, we can perform all of the testing and measurements specified in MIL-STD-1399 and DoD-STD-1399. DTB can also provide ungrounded user equipment input power in accordance with MIL-STD-1399, Section 300A.
Our testing facilities house a complete spectrum of variable voltage and variable frequency testing power capabilities, including 440 VAC, line-to-line, 3-phase, up to 60 kVA; 115 VAC, line-to-line, 3-phase, up to 50 kVA; and 115 VAC, line-to-line, 2-wire, up to 20 kVA.
1,000 V and 2,500 V Voltage Spike Tests:
- 3-phase or 2-wire configured test items using an isolated power source, as required by the specification, in accordance with Appendix A of MIL-STD-1399, Section 300A
DC Magnetic Field Susceptibility Testing:
- Specified in MIL-STD-1399, Section 070, and performed by DTB’s engineers and technicians; our largest test coil has internal dimensions of 17 ft. by 10 ft.
MIL-STD-461D, E, and F Testing:
- Up to 200 Amp/phase of 440 VAC, 3-phase, 60 Hz ungrounded filtered power; and 115 VAC, line-to-line, 3-phase, 60 Hz ungrounded filtered power, in accordance with MIL-STD-1399, Section 300A
