Electrical Testing Facilities

DTB offers some of the most unique test facilities in the world. Our EMI/EMC test facilities have been designed to handle a wide variety of EMI/EMC testing.

We feature six semi-anechoic chambers of various sizes, including our large, climate-controlled Three-Meter chamber, which can accommodate large test items and is used to perform testing activities in support of the FCC Declaration of Conformity and Certification for the specifications listed on our A2LA Scope of Accreditation (Cert. No. 0767.02). In addition to those facilities, we have a GTEM chamber, a reverberation chamber, and a shielded screen chamber that can be configured for different power or frequency ranges.

We also have a standalone TEMPEST test facility, which is separate from our main test lab, to offer our customers and their programs the additional privacy that this type of testing can necessitate.

Our Three-Meter chamber can accommodate large test items and is used to perform testing activities in support of the FCC Declaration of Conformity and Certification for the specifications listed on our A2LA Scope of Accreditation (Cert. No. 0767.02).

  • Climate-controlled site, covered with a 48 ft. (L) x 24 ft. (W) by 20 ft. (H) RF transparent fiberglass structure that allows for testing in all weather conditions
  • Designed for final radiated emissions measurements, as well as MIL-STD-461-type measurements
  • Three-Meter chamber dimensions:
    • Internal working space – 8.5 m (L) x 5.1 m (W) x 5.5 m (H)
    • Shielding surface size – 9 m (L) x 6 m (W) x 5.95 m (H)
    • External size, including ground plane and support steel – 9.6 m (L) x 6.6 m (W) x 6.85 m (H)
  • Fully lined with a hybrid absorber system on all walls and the ceiling, consisting of TDK RF Solutions Model IB-015 ferrite tile and Model IP-045C foam RF absorber
  • Flush-mounted turntable, manufactured by Sunol Sciences, Inc., with the chamber ground plane 2 m in diameter and rated for 2,200 lbs.
  • Non-metallic, remotely-controlled antenna mast, manufactured by Sunol Sciences, Inc., capable of accurately positioning the receiving antenna from 1-4 m in elevation and in vertical and horizontal polarizations
  • EMI-filtered electrical power with line impedance stabilization networks (LISNs) placed on top of and bonded to the ground plane when performing conducted emissions on floor standing equipment

*The performance of the chamber was determined using an accredited external provider.

This chamber allows for high speed testing to commercial radiated emissions and immunity standards in an EMI-free ambient environment. The chamber is also used by several automotive standards.

  • 1.75 m septum height
  • 26 ft. (L) x 13 ft. (W) x 11 ft. (H) overall chamber size
  • Large access door is 1 m (W) x 1.3 m (H) to permit work on the test item
  • Small access door is located near the tip of the cell
  • Maximum test item size is 1.5 m (L) x 1.5 m (W) x 1.32 m (H)
  • Uniform field area (±3 dB) is 1.15 m (L) x 1.15 m (W) x 0.6 m (H)
  • Non-conductive remote-controlled manipulator for positioning the test item in the required three axis
  • Maximum RF power is 1 kW
  • Radiated immunity field strength in excess of 200 V/m
  • Frequency range of DC-20 GHz
  • Radiated emissions from 30 MHz-6 GHz, correlated to OATS at 3 m

This chamber is used for mode-tuned testing for automotive, military, and commercial aircraft, as well as shielding effectiveness testing.
